PRAIRIE VIEW- The Prairie View A&M Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) capped off the school year on a successful note as they donated nearly $300 in school supplies to Waller ISD’s H.T. Jones Elementary School in Prairie View.
 The school supplies were made possible through the department’s community service coin drive project which began Feb. 19 and took place during various on-campus athletic events.  The SAAC raised a total of $1,132.85 during the coin drive and finished second amongst the SWAC’s 10 member institutions.   As a result of finishing second, a percentage of the coin drive proceeds went to a charity selected by coin drive winner Arkansas-Pine Bluff with another percentage dedicated for Jones Elementary.
 The supplies were officially donated to Jones Elementary by SAAC co-advisor Greg C. Martin and SAAC members Brandon Brooks (baseball), Kesha Brown (soccer), Jomar Cauley (football), Raven Lewis (women’s tennis), Roonesia Newsome (bowling), Kristina Sadler (bowling) and Artavia Woods (softball).
