Earlier this month, political commentator Lisa Durden gave a fiery interview with Tucker Carlson on Fox News, defending a Black Lives Matter chapter’s decision to host a Memorial Day event exclusively for black people.

Durden, who was an adjunct professor at Essex County College in Newark, N.J., and is also a media commentator whose focus centers mostly on issues such as pop culture, race and politics. She was invited onto “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to discuss the Black Lives Matter event.

During the discussions on the topic, a heated exchange broke out between the two that included Durden telling the thin-skinned White Golden-boy Carlson that “You white people are angry because you couldn’t use your ‘white privilege’ card to get invited to the Black Lives Matter’s all-black Memorial Day celebration.”

Carlson fired back by calling her “hostile and separatist and crazy…You’re demented actually,” he said. “You’re sick and what you’re saying is disgusting and if you were a Nazi I would say the same thing to you.”

Essex County College is federally designated as a Predominantly Black Institution and a Hispanic Serving Institution. It has a large black student population and its new president, Anthony E. Munroe, Essex County College president. Munroe is black.

However, Durden’s free speech cost her her position because she was fired.

Essex because President Munroe did not support her, but bowed to the “politics”, powers and pressure and provided a lengthy explanation on why he did not support Durden’s right to hold her views on the issues.

Munroe contended the administration was “immediately inundated with feedback from students, faculty and prospective students and their families expressing frustration, concern and even fear that the views expressed by a College employee (with influence over students) would negatively impact their experience on the campus.”

“In consideration of the College’s mission, and the impact that this matter has had on the College’s fulfillment of its mission, we cannot maintain an employment relationship with the adjunct,” Munroe said in the statement.

Here is a classic example of the lack of support Black leaders in key positions fail to support those who  stand up in the fight for freedom, equality and justice.

It takes courage to stand up and speak out is a world full of White media wolves waiting to pounce on you and rip apart your views, values and core beliefs.

America is suppose to be a land where we value differences,  the expression of ideas and can discuss issues using first amendment rights in a civil manner without an ulterior motive to destroy careers and characters.

FOX News, CNN, MSNBC – locally Houston Chronicle and other White dominated media news sources are not interested in giving you a platform or legitimizing your positions as a free speaking educated African-American.

The motives in their back boardrooms are quite the opposite.  They want to ridicule you for your free speech opinions,  unmask your personal feelings and expose your ultimate goals.

Any time commentators discuss a controversial topic on television, there will be people who agree and disagree – That much is true.

However, it is shameful that many Blacks in leadership positions across this country allow people like Durden to be crucified and sacrficed.

To many respond like Munroe and have “no balls” to stand up and back Black people who are out front and fight for truth and who lay it all on the line to make lives better for the next generation.

Durden is just the latest casualty in a war that will rage on as long as the White-drive by media organizations are allowed to dominate the ideas and airwaves of America.

She was publicly lynched and her situation must serve as the latest warning not to get on White media television and radio shows and expect to be treated with dignity and respect.

It also demonstrates that some of our Blacks in leadership are sorry examples for real pansies and losers when fighting for justice and equality.

Quit running to White Media to tell your stories. They do not care about you!!!

It is high time we take one page from President Trump’s playbook and learn to use our Black News Media outlets and Social Media outlets exclusively, the way Trump uses Twitter.

Black people can effectively spread the messages with the community by advertising and using Black news organizations.

It is time to decline interviews with White New media organizations and leave them alone.

Both President Munroe and Durden should be a warning to black folks everywhere.

Sometimes We Are “Lynched” By Our Own Black Hands…
