ACRES HOME – On April 2, 1965 in Houston, Texas, Jasper Troy Hayward was born in Herman Hospital, to proud parents, Jasper Hayward and Gertha Hayward.
Jasper Troy accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord and was baptized at The Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father Rev. Jasper Hayward, who preceded him in death.
Jasper Troy accepted his call into The Gospel Ministry at the age of twenty-four.
Jasper Troy Hayward attended public school in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Sam Houston High in 1983. Upon graduation, he attended Prairie View A&M University for 3 years, also. He was a Master Barber for 20 years and he also attended the College of Biblical Studies- Houston.
Rev. Jasper Troy Hayward was a great teacher and master of the Word of God. The lord blessed him with many gifts and talents. He was a great musician. He began playing for the church at the age of 12. He played for many churches in the Houston area.
On May 19, 2011, Jasper Troy united in Holy Matrimony to Patricia A. Thomas Hayward. They supported each other in the Ministry.
Rev. Jasper Troy Hayward became the Pastor of Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church on October 15, 2015. Although Pastor Jasper Troy Hayward was ill, he continued doing the work God called him to do.
On Sunday, March 5, 2017, Pastor Jasper Troy preached his last message; I John 4:19, “We Love Him Because He First Loved Us.” He was a man of God, he was God’s shepherd, preaching and teaching the Word of God until the end. The Lord has called him home to receive his reward during his last message he prayed for the church.
He leaves to cherish his memories, a devoted and loving wife, Patricia Hayward: his mother, Minister Gertha L. Hayward; daughter, Brittane T. Brown; son Joshua T. Thomas; 3 grandchildren, Langston Emory Brown, Paige Thomas and Randy Sinclair Brown; 3 sisters-in-law, Angelina, Mona, and Sheina; 1 nephew, Damian Washington; 3 nieces, DeShun Jenkins (Darnell), LaKeisha Christman (Yur’rum) and Jasmine Barrett, and a host of great nieces and nephews, and uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends
