The firefighters who were denied a promotion sued, and the Court will decide if what the city did was legal.  I hope the Court will decide--and that Ms. Parker agrees--that it's more important to hire the best qualified people and to refuse give anyone a racial preference than it is to hire a politically correct racial and ethnic mix.<br/><br/>

Now that we have the decision in Ricci vs. City of New Haven, I guess the onus will be on each political jurisdiction to provide a validated test, free of any "discriminatory" questions. I would be surprised if the test score distributions didn't match the same distributions that show up in other fields requiring testing of candidates. 

How about if we put the focus where it should be- on parents & communities that tolerate poor performance in school, and on school systems that don't enforce educational standards for all, regardless of skin color, socio-economic status, or community pressure<br/><br/>
