Velma Laws, a native Houstonian, is the Director of the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Affirmative Action and Contract Compliance. She is responsible for the Certification and Business Development; Contract Compliance; Training, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance. She is committed to ensuring that the City of Houston continues to have one of the strongest and most balanced Affirmative Action programs in the nation.
