Holding on for President Obama


Toi Moore sits with her Uncle Myles, who turned 98 one month before President Obama was sworn into office. Myles dying wish was to see President-elect Obama sworn into office.

January 20, 2009 marked a new day in history when we watched our first Black president take his oath to the highest office in the United States of America. January has also been a special and historical month for me as I celebrated my birthday, which is one day after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s birthday, and then watch President Barack Obama make history.
