HOUSTON-  Tyler  Perry’s new movie, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” starring Taraji P. Henson, Adam Rodriguez, Brian White, Mary J. Blige, Gladys Knight, Rev. Marvin Winans and Tyler Perry, topped the box office opening weekend as the #1 movie in America. The theme of the movie is “hope is closer than you think.”

Many of the attendees said in a poll afterwards, “The movie was great!,” “timely and heart tugging.” Chester Renfro said “I enjoyed the movie, but it was a ‘chick-flick,’ no guns, explosives or car chases.”

The movie centers around Perry’s favorite character Madea, who catches 16-year-old Jennifer and her two younger brothers robbing her home. She decides to take matters into her own hands and delivers the young delinquents to the only relative they have: their Aunt April—a heavy-drinking nightclub singer who lives off of her married boyfriend, Raymond.  April wants nothing to do with the kids. But, her attitude begins to change when Sandino, a handsome Mexican immigrant looking for work, moves into her basement. Making amends for his own troubled past, Sandino challenges April to open her heart. April soon realizes she must make the biggest choice of her life: between her old ways with Raymond and the new possibilities of family, faith…and even true love.
