A Demagogue Disguised As A Baptist Pastor

The House voted 240-179 to rebuke Rep. Joe Wilson for yelling “You lie” during President Obama’s Health Care speech. Tea Party rallies, with signs showing disrespect are ongoing. And there’s Pastor Anderson, not only disrespectful, but hypocritical as well!
Though seemingly out of the news, his hate-filled rantings should not be treated lightly. Steven L. Anderson is the pastor of Faithful Word Baptist Church, in Tempe, Arizona. He is steeped in unjustified hatred not synonymous with the God he claims to serve.
His sermon titled “Why I Hate Barack Obama”, is proof of this. A small portion is as follows: “Here’s my sermon, ‘Why I Hate Barack Obama.’ I’m gonna tell you something, I hate Barack Obama! Say (inaudible), well you just mean you don’t like what he stands for. No, I hate the person! No, well you mean you just don’t like his politics (unclear). No, I hate him! Now I’m gonna prove this from the Bible tonight, why I should hate Barack Obama, why God wants me to hate Barack Obama, why God hates Barack Obama!”
Clearly this man hates President Barack Obama, and it’s okay. He can hate whomever he likes. But where does he get off arrogantly assumimg that God hates Obama? He can’t speak for God, he can only speak for himself!
As for proving what he said coming from the Bible, if he reads and memorizes the entire Bible, this Bible-thumping simpleton can’t do it. Any preacher can read from the Bible. The ability to correctly interpret, is something else again.
He instructs his congregation to “turn back to Psalm 58,” and let him (Anderson), ask them this question. “Why should Barack Obama melt like a snail? Why should Barack Obama die like the untimely birth of a woman? Why should his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow, as we read in this passage? Well, I will tell you why. Because since Barack Obama thinks it’s okay to use a salty solution, right, to abort the unborn, because that’s how abortions are done my friends, using salt—and I would like to see Barack Obama melt like a snail tonight.”
He now wants to make it appear that the hatred he’s consumed with is coming from the Bible, not from him. The man is in a state of dumb—too dumb to know how dumb he is. I researched Psalm 58.
The words, according to Anderson, are spoken by David, who is speaking to the congregation. In part it reads: “Do ye indeed speak righteousness O congregation? do ye judge uprightly, O ye sons of men?”
“Yea, in heart ye work wickedness, ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. The wicked are estranged from the womb;they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.”
Moving down now to where David says: “As a snail which melteth, let every one of them pass away: like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.”
Now I am not a scholar of the Bible, but what I see in this Psalm however briefly drafted, applies to Anderson, not Obama. I see David not only chastising his congregation, but calling them hypocrites. He’s saying that they indeed speak righteousness, and judge in a pious manner, but in their heart they work wickedness. He then describes how wicked people behave, and finally what should happen to them.
Wicked among other things, means vicious, depraved, and both terms describe Anderson. It is vicious, depraved, to spew out such venom when based on lies. This man’s hatred of Barack Obama has nothing to do with his position on abortion.
It has to do with his hatred of Obama the man. It’s proven in everything he says. Check out the following:
“You’re gonna tell me that I’m supposed to pray for the socialist devil, murderer, infanticide who wants to see young children and he wants to see babies killed through abortion and partial-birth (inaudible) everything. You gonna tell me I’m supposed to pray for God to give him a good lunch tomorrow while he’s in Phoenix, Arizona? Nope! I’m not gonna pray for his good! I’m gonna pray that he dies and goes to hell! When I go to bed tonight, that’s what I’m gonna pray! You just sayin that…? No! When I go to bed tonight Steven L. Anderson is gonna pray for Barack Obama to die and go to hell! You say why would’ja do that? That our country could be saved—that innocent lives could be saved—it’s not just about abortion, it’s all the warfare too that our country has no business being involved in, that kills innocent people.”
Well if it’s not just about abortion, but warfare too, why is he screaming, praying for Obama to die and go to hell? Why is this madman praying further that Obama gets brain cancer and dies like Ted Kennedy? The war in Iraq was started under President George W. Bush, and innocent people were killed by the thousands.
Why didn’t Anderson preach a sermon called “Why I Hate George Bush?” Why didn’t he want him to melt like a snail, leave his children fatherless, and his wife a widow? Why wasn’t he sending up an urgent prayer, for George Bush to die and go to hell?
He hates the fact that this Black man is sitting in the White House! He hates the fact that he got in, despite his effort to keep him out. He hates the fact that Barack Obama a Black man, is smarter than he’ll ever be. He can’t stand the fact that a beautiful Black woman is First Lady, and two pretty little girls are afforded all that comes with being the president’s daughters. It doesn’t matter that he is eminently qualified. He has no business running America!
That’s where all this venom, this undiluted hatred is coming from. The man is a demagogue disguised as a preacher. In the words of my teacher, Master Analyst John Africa; “An innocent mask can fool only the blind, but the man that can see will cut through all disguises.”
Well my eyes don’t see nearly as clearly as his, but they see well enough to scope this man. Memo to Pastor Steven L. Anderson: Barack Obama is the president of the United States. Git over it!
