KAUFMAN— Wilson St. Church of God in Christ will host its 5th Annual Texas Gospelfest, on Sunday, September 20, 2009, at the Kaufman High School Auditorium, 3205 Houston St. Special guests will include The Concert Supremes, Jean Frederick & the Fantastic Goldenair, Chuck & the Guiding Clouds, Minister Mike Mitchell & Just Praise of Marshall and many other special guests. The Gospelfest will be used as a fundraiser for the church’s building needs.
Wilson St. Church of God in Christ is a historical church of over 75 years that was started in the cotton field. Pastor Grady Hill, Jr. is a third generation pastor that is taking this church to the next level.
“There will be many guests that come from far and near to be a part of this Holy Ghost-filled event,” Hill said. “It has been a long time since the Kaufman area has experienced a live concert of this magnitude. We believe it will be overwhelmingly supported and well received by the community and its citizens.” Ticket prices are $12 pre-sale, $15 at door, and $5 for children under age 12. The show will start at 5p.m. The church is also seeking sponsors at the $500 (platinum), $350 (golden) and $250 (silver) levels to sponsor the event. Each platinum and golden sponsor will be recognized at the concert and mentioned in print.
