Shape Community Center Shows Documentary

HOUSTON- A fundraising event for Shape Community Center, featuring the documentary “Glenn & Linus Michael Attend the Million Man March,” will be held on Saturday, Sept. 19 & 26, 2009. Produced and directed by Glenn Towery, the film will be shown on those dates at 7:30 p.m. at 3903 Almeda. The cost is $15 per person.
In the film, Glenn Towery, (an African-American) and Linus Michael Leting, (an African from Kenya), two film students, decided to attend the Million Man March called for by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan in 1995. They sign up in Los Angeles, seek spiritual guidance then embark on an adventure to Washington, D.C. to attend the Million Man March in search of the meaning of the event to themselves and other attendees.
