Sherese Parris HOUSTON- Sherese Parris is currently in her fourth year at the University of Texas at Arlington. In May 2008, she graduated with honors from Challenge Early College High School and continued her education at the Houston Community College with an Associates of Arts Degree. Parris awards include: Most Outstanding Senior Young Woman, played an active role in the National Honor Society (officer), International Thespian Society (president), Yearbook (editor), Track Team and Cheerleading Squad. She has always enjoyed taking part in these activities, but her passion is acting and performance; however over the past 10 years she has spent a large quantity of time pursuing and perfecting this craft.
Actors who study and practice the Stanislavski System of acting such as Denzel Washington, Jack Nicholson and Kate Winslet inspire Parris to continue to strive for success in the acting world. She is mostly motivated by Houston native, Debbie Allen who plays a vital role in the acting world and serves as a member on the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Parris is currently enrolled as a double major with a focus in Theatre and public relations.
On the collegiate level, she was cast in the original play “Unrequited Love” at Louisiana State University. She is currently seeking work in the film and theatre field. “I am excited about working in film and theatre and cannot wait to share the arts with the world,” Parris stated.
