SAN ANTONIO –Tavion Lacy (blue shorts) from Dallas, Texas, impressed the judges with his dance moves during the Huston-Tillotson University’s Enrollment Fest to pickup a $5,000 scholarship for the Fall 2009 semester. Lacy and a dozen other new students participated in a weekend of activities as part of the University’s Male Initiative on Learning and Excellence (MILE). The program is designed to engage first-year male students in innovative educational experiences anchored in academic achievements and college success.
The Enrollment Fest featured performances by local artists and Huston-Tillotson graduates such as Judy Arnold, George Powell, and Deric Lewis. The event allowed potential students to showcase their singing, dancing, or musical talents, tour the campus, talk to faculty about majors, visit with admission counselors, and apply for the start of the fall semester.
