“Get the Scoop” on Free Family Support Programs of Central Texas

AUSTIN- The Relief Nursery of Central Texas is a family support program that provides free services to families who have children under the age of 6. “Get The Scoop” is an opportunity for parents to learn more about their no-cost programs and services on Friday, August 7, 2009, along with a tour of their nursery at 2203 E. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The mission of the Relief Nursery is to prevent the cycle of child abuse and neglect by early intervention that focuses on building successful and resilient children, strengthening parents and preserving families.
With its unique blend of therapeutic early childhood services and comprehensive family support, including alcohol & drug recovery support services, the Relief Nursery empowers vulnerable families and helps stop the vicious cycle of child abuse and neglect. Families seeking services are often struggling with things like financial strain, a history of abuse, substance abuse or a lack of social support. Ben & Jerry’s will sponsor this event by providing individuals in attendance with a “scoop” of ice cream to help beat the heat!
