HOUSTON- The Broken Chains Outreach Ministry (BCOM) hosted the 2009 Impact Scholarship Luncheon, at The Baymont Inn & Suites, 501 North Sam Houston Parkway. 2009 Impact Scholarship recipient Pha-Sha Williams, is a proud North Forest High School graduate, who will attend Prairie View A&M University this fall, majoring in the field of Nursing. Recipient, Stephanie Dartez, graduated from Westfield High School and will attend Sam Houston State University, majoring in Chemistry with a minor in Criminal Justice.
The program theme was: “Yes, Yes We Can. Making Dreams Come True One Student at a Time.” Master of Ceremony was Loverous Whittaker, retired supervisor, NFISD. Other participants were: Cynthia Whittaker, medly of songs; Dr. Jesse Whittaker, invocation; Evelyn Banks, Retired Educator NFISD, occasion & welcome; Dionte McClendon, student, Eisenhower H.S, poem; Taylor Burrough and Chantel Wilson, Good Hope Youth Department, duet; Morgan Walker Student TSU, praise dance; Carolyn B. Williams, NFISD Board, introduction of speaker and  Dr. Emily Bartley, Educator NFISD, keynote speaker.
The introduction of scholarship recipients, was by Theresa Marshall, Scholarship Committee,  and presidential presentations were made by Georgetta Carvin, founder and president BCOM, Inc. Dr. D.Z. Cofield, pastor of Good Hope M.B.C. gave the benediction for the night.
