HOUSTON- The Knights of Peter Claver Junior National Convention was held in Houston July 9-12 at the Westin Galleria.  The Knights of Peter Claver is the oldest and largest Catholic organization that gives young people an opportunity to gain leadership skills and form a developmental approach, with young leaders being recognized as important resources and supported to take on significant roles as leaders within schools, organizations, and communities. The organization was founded by Josephite priests, Father Conrad F. Rebesher, Samuel J. Kelly, Joseph P. Van Baast and John H. Dorsey, and laymen Gilbert Faustina, Frank Collins and Frank Trenier in 1909 in Mobile, Alabama.

The Junior Division is an auxiliary youth organization that provides opportunities for young Catholics to develop spiritually and compete in talent and academic contests.  While attending, youth gathered ideas, learned about youth leadership, discovered links and resources to programs around the world, and explored leadership topics that address kids and youth leading. The Jr. Supreme Knight of the Knights of Peter Claver is E.
