Young Women and Young Men of Destiny Prepares for New Season

PFLUGERVILLE- The Young Women and Young Men of Destiny is preparing for their new enrollment season. The organizations are a Christ-centered mentoring for high school age young women and young men, which offers Leadership Development, Personal Development, College and Career Counseling, Spiritual Development, Cultural Appreciation, and Relational Building.
YWOD was founded in December of 2004 by Estelle M. Brooks for the purpose of assisting and training God-honoring young women to successfully transition from adolescences to young adulthood by applying biblical and leadership principles to every area of their lives.
The break down of the traditional family has resulted in fewer positive role models and a lack of effective mentoring, producing young adults who are inadequately prepared to transition from adolescence to adulthood.
They continue service to the greater Austin area YWOD continues to experience exponential growth each year; in August, 2006 Young Men of Destiny was successfully launched. Both programs provides preparation for college, career, and adult life. The debutantes are able to work with professional mentors/life coaches, make new friends, develop a life-long sisterhood/brotherhood, in order to gain an understanding of their God-given purpose, destiny, gifts, and talents. Seniors are able to apply for the YWOD/YMOD and other college scholarships.
They are asking for all new applicants to go to their Web site at www.youngwomenofdestiny.com and download the Young Women and Men of Destiny Mentoring & Debutante ProgramDebutante/Mentoree Application. Applicants must be enrolled in high school, able to participate in a scheduled workshop each fourth Saturday of the month. One parent must be able to attend the mandatory orientation session and Kickoff on Saturday, September 5, 2009. The $25.00 application fee is non-refundable. All completed applications must be turned in by August 15, 2009.
