AUSTIN- For over 75 years The Junior League of Austin has partnered with Austin area non-profits to improve the Austin community and is proud to announce its community projects for the 2009-2010 year.
For six months, The League researched 75 agency applications and has chosen 28 agencies that address the community needs in the areas of Youth, Education, Health and Well-Being and Cultural Enrichment. Each agency will receive financial support and/or volunteer hours for community outreach.
Each Junior League of Austin volunteer assigned to a respective community agency contributes 70 to 100 hours of their time to their assigned project, in addition to the time they spend supporting The League’s programs.
For the 2009-2010 year, The Junior League of Austin expects to provide approximately 500 community volunteers and 100,000 hours of volunteer service to carry out the missions of these organizations and to provide other valuable services to the community.
The Junior League of Austin researches each agency application and selects the projects and programs that helps the mission to develop the potential of women, improve the community and promote volunteerism.
