JUNE 19, 2009- Geaya -CentralTexas Juneteenth Park Festival and Parade - 10 a.m. - 10p.m. The parade begins at 10 am at Comal St. and MLK Blvd. The Historical Juneteenth Parade has helped define Austin’s Juneteenth Celebration for years, with festive and elaborate themed floats, high-stepping marching bands, colorful drum and drill teams. Park Festival starts immediately after the parade at Rosewood Park, 2300 Rosewood Ave. For all generations and will include: clown, face painting, carnival, R&B, Blues, Hip-Hop, Gospel…Historical Reenactments. Juneteenth Skit by She Smiles Entertainment...Poetry Slam…Dance Competitions.

JUNE 19, 2009- The Groves Educational Foundation in conjunction with the Juneteenth Committee will once again host the Annual Juneteenth Celebration. This is the 23rd Celebration. The celebrations on that day will began with the 23rd Annual Juneteenth Parade. Line up-will be at 9:00 in front of Old Jr. High. The Parade will conclude at the Groves Educational Foundation (1105 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard). The Official opening Ceremony, which will include the reading of the proclamation, will be held immediately after the parade (at approximately 11:00). Community recognition awards will be given along with motivational speeches. The Groves Educational Foundation will give a community citizenship recognition award. The Queen and Courts and other youth contestants will be featured at the ceremony. Special entertainment will be provided by the Juneteenth Contestants and other community performers. JUNE 19, 2009 - Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Those that care and would like to fellowship are invited to make a Statement of Change by participating in this year’s Juneteenth Celebration, Friday, June 19, 2009. Food served from 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at 201 N. Peak St. Auditorium (2nd floor). All cultures are coming together and are invited to wear Native African or Uniform attire.

JUNE 20, 2009 - Georgetown Cultural Citizen Memorial Association - Since 1952, Juneteenth has been celebrated in Georgetown, TX. The celebration will be held in The San Gabriel Park and Community Center.
