HOUSTON-The National Black United Front-Houston Chapter (NBUF) recently celebrated the 4th annual Malcolm X Birthday/Self-determination Weekend. The weekend is utilized to celebrate the birthday of Malcolm X, which is actually May 19, who approached direct action in many ways over the course of his short life, coming to a vision of nonviolence and multi-ethnic struggle shortly before his assasination. Malcolm taught us that ‘By Any Means Necessary’ included deep personal transformation and standing up fearless against all odds for a vision of self-determination..
