JASPER- Tichina Pickens, an eighth grader at Jasper Junior High School, was selected as Student of the Week. “Tichina is a wonderful student to teach.  She has a very sweet spirit. I am impressed by her willingness to put forth her best effort at all times.  She is prompt, prepared, and eager to learn,” said teacher Kim Washington.  “It is a joy to have her as a student.”  Pickens is a member of the Junior High Band and enjoys riding horses during her free time. Her favorite subject is history. She is the daughter of Daryle Pickens and Juanita Thomas.
