Elder and Adult Care Mediation Family Certification Training Program

HOUSTON- Elder and Adult Care Mediation Training is the new horizon in family dispute resolution. The family certification training program in elder care mediation will be held on May 22-23, 2009. The 20-hour course with varied continuing education credits in ethics and legislation updates will define elder mediation, ways in which elder mediation differs from other mediation skills, the importance of intake and ways to make it efficient, the aging process and its possible impact on mediation, capacity issues, use of support persons, family dynamics, ethic considerations including self-determination, legal and financial issues including guardianship, ensuring the older person’s voice is heard, role of advocates, and mediator competence, health care, end-of-life issues, and financial planning.
Classes will be held in the Uptown/Galleria area. All participants will receive training materials, as well as snacks, included in application fee of $495, if paid seven days in advance, $400 as an early bird special. For more information or to registar for class, call (713)840-0828
