NAACP Houston Branch announces new leadership

HOUSTON – The NAACP Houston Branch held the swearing in ceremony of its new Branch President Carolyn Scantlebury and 1st Vice President Rev. Reginald Lillie. The honorable Zinetta Burney performed the ceremony, which was attended by fellow NAACP officers, executive committee members, NAACP members, family and friends. Yolanda Smith is the executive director of the NAACP Houston Branch, 2002 Wheeler Ave.
It serves the Harris County area through its programs and myriad committees made up of its dedicated staff and volunteer members. Led by an executive committee of approximately 25 volunteers, the Branch has been experiencing tremendous growth in recent years.
As a result of the change in its administrative capacity, operational budgets have also changed tremendously from year to year.
