I have been covering politics for perhaps a year now, when I founded my school's newsletter and became a writer in the "Good Ol' Fashioned Politicin' " column where I and a friend would debate, in print, the nature of key political issues and observe what was then the ongoing campaign. I am currently attending Texas A&M University.

For the most part, I must agree with the writer of this excerpt. Precious was not very moving, and most of the acting,I thought was not as good as I anticipated. On the other hand, Mo-Nique is also lacking some acting abilities in her portrayal in this role. I could see through her acting that she should stick with parts as a comedic actior and not be subjected to parts as harsh and abusive parenting. And the young lady who played Precious, I believe was cast into this role due to director's profiling (an overweight and unattractive young African American female). However, I enjoyed the book more so than the movie. But like the movie, the book was not as great as I originally thought it be. The ending was so vague.
