Rev. Robert M. Gilmore Sr. has a plan to give hope to 1 million individuals. HOUSTON- Each and every day hundreds, thousands, no millions of individuals lose hope. They may be a family member, a neighbor, a friend or a spouse.
And the reality is some people never find hope.
What is hope? A feeling that what is wanted is likely to happen; desire accompanied by expectation.
Hope is the belief that something good may happen. It can also be the source or cause of such a belief.
Hope can be given or even taken away due to academic achievement, through politics, through one’s economic status and yet each and every individual needs hope in order to survive. Rev. Robert McKinley Gilmore, Sr., understands the need to offer hope to those in need and the impact such hope can have when determining success or failure.
He states, “In 1990, I received over 25 letters of rejection from publishers, literary agents and print companies… Although I was disappointed, this made me start my own company, Real Publishing Company and self-published, Hope After Dope. Now we are going to giving away 1 million books on-line to individuals, families, schools, organizations, communities, groups, Veterans, Americans or people in other countries around the globe.” He refused to give up hope and now he wants to offer that same hope to others.
Gilmore author of the book, Hope After Dope, From Drug Addict to a Doctor, is the moving force behind the Hope After Project. In his book, Gilmore states, “We are in another battle, but this time it is to win or save the minds, spirits and souls of our community…. ”
The Hope After Project is a year long program of personal, educational, mental, economic and spiritual growth designed to impact the individual, the family, the community, the world. The Project can be utilized in homes, schools, professional institutions, the faith community and of course the individual.
The key for success in the Hope After Project is the willingness of audience participation and a desire to increase the level of hope or lack of hope. Real Urban Ministry, Inc. 501©3, is recruiting community based organizations, faith-based leaders, business/professional groups, governmental leadership and corporate leaders in a year-long mobilization and training.
No one is exempt from participation. Support and resources will be needed on every level in order to be successful.
The Hope After Project will focus on the youth and young adults. This is critical because they are the future Hope for the future of our community.
Whether hope was taken away from someone through the educational system, or because of a failed relationship, or there was no hope in the first place that could motivate you. Hope is never lost; there is always some hope somewhere and you cannot ever think that hope dies.
Hope can be found after the most tragic circumstances, hope can be located in the most devastating places and, yes, hope can even be restored even if you lost it. The community must be accountable for its own survival.
Leadership must be held accountable for maintaining hope in our communities, families must be held accountable for maintaining hope in homes and each individual must be held accountable for maintaining “hope” in themselves.

Dr. Gilmore, in the back of my book, "Benny to Beyonce," I have a list of Christ centered recovery/rehabs. Your Hope After Project sounds tremendous! May God continue to bless you.`.
