Wash Allen
HOUSTON- On air personality Wash Allen started as a 15-year-old teenage broadcaster at WDIA radio in Memphis, Tennessee. He went on to major in speech and drama at Tennessee State University.
Allen has over 45 years of outstanding success in broadcasting,  ranging from broadcaster to program director to operations manager at radio stations across the country including stations in Nashville, Tennessee; Cleveland, Ohio; Washington, D.C.; Detroit, Michigan and Houston, Texas. He is currently  the host of the popular “Confessions” daily radio talk show on KCOH 1430 AM radio where he has been 1971.
Also, his weekly television show, “The Wash Allen Show,” spotlights Houston’s social events and airs in Houston, the Golden Triangle, (Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange) New Orleans, Chicago and parts of Mississippi.  “The Wash Allen Show” is independently owned, produced and syndicated by Wash Allen and Judy Foston.
Weekly, the show captivates audiences with its feature of various public service organizations’ galas and other special events. It showcases many galas and events for public service organizations such as The Living Bank, NAACP Freedom Fund Gala, NBA All Stars Legends Gala, Houston Symphony, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Prairie View A&M University, “My Brother” movie premiere, Sisters Network, Inc., Boys and Girls Club, Open Door Mission, Escape Resource Center, Social Book, Urban League, Texas Southern University and others.
A recognized radio personality,  Billboard magazine named him one of the top three broadcasters in the United States and he was awarded Billboard’s Annual Radio Programming Forum award. Forty years ago, he created the annual Wash Allen’s Happy Feet Dance for his fans and sponsors, which still brings in thousands of his fans.
He had a national, syndicated radio show through ABC radio network for over 12 years.
