Michael Jacobs FORT WORTH- The president of the local chapter of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference is calling on leaders from around the country to come to Fort Worth and help with a community in crisis. “Fort Worth is one of the most dangerous cities in America if you are an African-American male,” says the Reverend Kyev Tatum.
“Our Black boys are dying and no one seems to care,” Rev. Tatum said. The family of Michael Jacobs, Jr., a 24-year-old African-America male, is shocked and disappointed with the grand jury’s decision not to indict a White female Fort Worth Police Officer who tasered to-death Jacobs “54 seconds” with a taser torture device. “It seems like justice is only for the citizens and not for the police here in Fort Worth,” his mother stated. The SCLC is asking Black organizations not to host their meetings in Fort Worth and to try to shop in surrounding communities.
“In my humble opinion, Mayor Moncrief is a closet bigot and rules Fort Worth with unyielding threats of retribution if you try to cross him and his klan of terrorists,” Rev. Tatum declares. “We are calling on Black leaders, sports figures, personalities, radio announcers and rappers, human rights organizations, Rev. Jesse Jackson, actors, Rev. Al Sharpton and others to come help us seek justice for all the victims of torture, excessive force and death at the hands of the Fort Worth Police. Fort Worth is supporting home grown terrorism,” Tatum continued. For more information call (817)966-7625 or email Rev. Kyev Tatum at fortworth4him@yahoo.com.
