2009 Men of Style Gala Raises Funds for Sickle Cell Anemia

HOUSTON- The Let the Fashions Begin “2009 Men of Style” Gala will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. at the Galleria JW Marriott Hotel located at 5150 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77056. The Honorary Chairpersons are Dr. William and Beverly Harmon and Drs. Ayers and Salina Lalji. The Event Chairpersons are Constance Charles, Harriett Gertner and LaTricia Williams.
This year, the organization will present the Judith L. Jones Award to a community leader that has elevated the visibility of this cause. The 2009 Living Legend award will be presented to the esteemed Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, Senior Pastor of Windsor Village United Method Church and Community Leader.
“All of this year’s honorees are deserving and go beyond the call of duty supporting the community and have contributed to making Houston a better place for everyone to live”, says event Chairperson, LaTricia Williams. The event has raised over one quarter of a million dollars for sickle cell research.
