Mt. Zion Baptist Church to host the 2009 Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas

AUSTIN- The Mt. Zion Baptist Church will host the 2009 Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas, from Sunday, October 18-Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the Mt Zion church campus, 2938 East 13th St. This Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas in collaboration with the National Baptist Convention of America, Inc. and the Lott Carey Baptist Foreign Mission Convention will provide support to those impacted by Hurricane Ike. The contributions raised will assist in providing impacted indivisuals with mental health services, primary and secondary after-school programs, and access to a full array of local, state and federal resources available to them. Three relief and resources centers, in Galveston, Beaumont and Orange, TX, will also be established to administer programs offered.
