Dr. Aisha Fields HOUSTON- The SHAPE Community Center, 3815 Live Oak, will host an event entitled “The Black Struggle in the Era of Barack Obama,” on Sunday, October 18, 2009, beginning at 6p.m. The event will feature Chairman Omali Yeshitela (formally known as Joe Waller), founder and chairman of the African People’s Socialist Party, Uhuru Movement and the Burning Spear Newspaper.

The event will also feature Bro. Kofi Taharka of National Chair of the National Black United Front (NBUF) and Dr. Aisha Fields, Director of the All African People’s Development and Empowerment Project (AAPDEP). Dr. Fields is a physicist coordinating sustainable development and economic self-sufficiency projects of the African People’s Socialist Party. The projects involve African working communities in the U.S., on the Continent of Africa and around the world. This event is free to the public.
