HOUSTON- CHILDREN AT RISK in partnership with the Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Crimestoppers, Lone Star Legal Aid, and the Texas Young Lawyers’ Association will hold a Children’s Law Symposium on Friday, Oct. 16, 2009, from 8:15 a.m.- 2:30p.m., at the United Way of Greater Houston, 50 Waugh Drive. Topics of discussion will include: “A Review of Texas’ Juvenile Justice System,” “Using the Law as an Education Policy Tool,” and “The Etical Conflicts of Serving Our Children: Changing Demograpics, Corporal Punishment, and the Juvenile Justice System”.
