There were exchanges made in body language and tone of voice by both President Barack Obama and Senator John McCain. One could easily surmise traces of bad blood still resonating between them. President Obama had to remind John McCain they were no longer in campaign mode. The embarrassed John McCain understood the acrimonious comment as he bristled and became red-faced.

If our Founding Fathers who labored over our Constitution two hundred years ago could see the behavior of our elected officials, their answer for today's politicians would be in one sentence: If they can't stand the heat than it is better for them to leave. Wisdom would define some politicians to be contumacious school children.

The televised Black Entertainment Network 2010 awards recognized five African Americans. The Entrepreneur honoree was Sean “Diddy” Combs, the Entertainment honoree was Whitney Houston, the Public Service/medicine honoree was Dr. Keith Black, the Media honoree was Queen Latifah, and the Education honoree was Dr. Ruth Simmons. The recipients each had a story to tell of their struggles and the ability to withstand the odds that were against them. They are a part of history-making which, by some standards, white America continually ignores. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every African American to keep the dream alive. One way is through the celebration of the success stories that we have heard from the beginning of slavery up to the generation of 2010. Justice and righteousness opened doors for us to celebrate our unique history.

When one is trying to build a movement based on anger against the established rules of government, ignorant of the substantive issues of what the Constitution can and cannot do, fear mongering, and exclusivity, it will have all the political and social viruses needed to pronounce a prognosis of death.
Palin's attack on the existing administration, particularly, President Barack Obama, riveted the Tea Party members to the point of hysteria. Americans should ask themselves if we were watching the future insurrectionists against civil authorities.

How is it when Bosnia in the 1990's in the nation of Yugoslavia was undergoing its ethnic cleansing there was no conversation of this nation being cursed? Yet millions of American dollars were given without any religious consternation of why we were giving national aide to these victims. Would the answer be because it was a European nation? What explanation can you give the Native Americans whom, over two hundred years, were raped of their land and dignity as human beings by “this Christian nation?” Is the United States government cursed for its enslavement of millions of Africans who were forced out of their nation to serve white America? Even curses have a equal playing field in the eyes of God. Our differences may arise from legitimate concerns. However, a minority of religious leaders are blinded by their presumption of religious and ethnic superiority.

By Brown's own admission during the campaign, he is that self-described outsider who is not the usual politician in Washington. The political pundits are now drawing comparisons between Brown and Obama. It may be a political game-changer or a ploy initiated by the media. After watching Senator Scott Brown's interview this past week, his sizzle may not hold water when it comes to making effective transformation in the political arena of Capitol Hill.

Some Christian leaders have played into the hands of the Republican demagogues. Demagogy refers to a political strategy for gaining political power by appealing to the popular prejudices, emotions, fears and expectation via propaganda and rhetoric. H.L. Mencken defined a demagogue "as one who will preach doctrines he knows to be untrue to men he knows to be idiots." In these critical times we cannot afford to be one among the masses nor idiots. Wisdom and discernment is what we need, not other men's fears.

Religious accusations about President Barack Obama are not our weapons. We are designed to be overcomers by the definition of the Cross. The Word of God teaches us to become a visible force in the deep trenches of world problems and for every member to present themselves as the light on the hill.

There is a rainbow in the mist of this political storm. The Massachusetts political upset, to use President Obama's own words, became “a teachable moment.” Now it is time for Obama to recalibrate and step back to see what went wrong and go forward with full gusto to the agenda of creating jobs. He must not forsake the importance of communicating what and how he plans to create jobs for the people. President Barack Obama must be that leader, who, like a basketball player, scores points with the ball of Jobs in the court of mainstream America for this year of 2010 and beyond.
