Support Dr. Slade's Fight Against Might

Love, or loathe Dr. Priscilla Slade,
who’s utilizing tenure status at Texas Southern University, one has to
admire her spunk. Even if she’s guilty (on all counts), her audacity
must be admired. For sure, she knows how a crooked system works well
enough to make it work for her. Translation: Dr. Slade has no intentions
of allowing whomever is behind the conspiracy (to discredit, or do
whatever evil in high places want to do with the historical Black, "Open
Admission" university that’s crucial to Black Texan’s progress) treat
her like a political booty call.
Fatal
Attraction aside, history very possibly could
record that Dr. Slade changed the way that evil in high places select
Black faces that’s elevated to high places to retard their people’s
progress.
African American
News & Issues
often alludes to Black faces in high places,
who believe they can change the system from the inside out, as
"double-agents." For real, on one hand they sell their people out, and
on the other they do enough for malleable minded "brothers" and
"sisters" to give them "Outstanding Citizen" awards. If you’re into
Black History, think invaluable slaves that served the Massa’ well
enough to be trusted in the house, but at the same time secretly did
whatever they could to help their people living in the slave quarters.
Thus, if Dr. Slade was "OUR" n-word in the house, as opposed to simply
being a house n-word, Black Houston’s leaders would be remiss not to
support Dr. Slade in her fight against vindictive co-conspirators, who
want to criminalise her for not going quietly in the night.
We Must Understand that
what Dr. Slade has been indicted for, sadly, is the rule, rather than an
exception in today’s society. Truth is, political astute citizens would
be surprised if official malfeasance and corporate fraud on some level
wasn’t found anywhere an investigation is launched. And if you’re
wondering where we’re coming from, think Robinhood (FYI:
Robin Hood is the archetypal English folk
hero; a courteous, pious and swashbuckling outlaw of the medieval era
who, in modern versions of the legend, is famous for his robbing the
rich to feed the poor and fighting against injustice and tyranny.
–Wikipedia,
the free online encyclopedia.) Yet, he was a
crook. However, it’s not much of a stretch to envision Dr. Slade’s
expensive landscape to be Robinhood’s Sherwood Forest.
Accordingly, one could equate the good things that
Dr. Slade was given credit for during her seven year tenure to
Robinhood’s fight against a system that was abusing his people.
Truthfully, Dr. Slade might have initiated her downfall when she
introduced her plans to truly enhance TSU’s growth. If you check

archives (www.aframnews.com),
you’ll find a
Publisher’s News Analysis explaining how she
earned the respect and appreciation of the African American Chamber of
Commerce-Greater Houston (nee Acres Home Citizens Chamber of Commerce),
when she honored a request to speak at their (first Thursday) monthly
business networking meetings… although its chairman, Roy Douglas
Malonson, asked in a 2002 column,
"Is Dr. Slade
Arrogant, or Crazy?"
Unlike most shallow minded public servants, she
separated Malonson, the community leader, from the publisher of a tell
it like it is newspaper. She, instead, collaborated with the Chamber to
locate satellite TSU campuses in their community. We certainly aren’t
dismissing what Dr. Slade is accused of doing with "our money" (because
she became a very strong supporter of the Chamber by becoming a business
network luncheon sponsor), but we are making it known that we won’t look
the other way while the very system-- that used her-- further abuse her
by sending her to prison on dubious charges. We applaud her for not
having enough shame in her game to let her co-conspirators kick her to
the curb like a booty call that’s no longer desirable.
We Must Understand , there’s
a prevailing suspicion in the Black community that Dr. Slade fully
intends to take a few Black faces in high places down with her, in spite
of the hard ball indictments she is facing. If so, we must help her
fight. AAN&I informed Houston of her wrong doing five years ago.
