FACES OF EVIL: Ed “Preacher” Killen
knows that the KKK is in good hands.

Is Racism Evil?

The fifth century theologian Augustine of Hippo mounted what has become one of the most popular defenses of the existence of God against the Epicurean paradox. He maintained that evil was only privatio boni, or a privation of good. An evil thing can only be referred to as a negative form of a good thing, such as discord, injustice, and loss of life or liberty. If a being is not totally pure, evil will fill in any gaps in that being's purity. This is commonly called the Contrast Theodicy — that evil only exists as a "contrast" with good.

ALL CITY “SENIORS” LINE DANCE PARTY

The first all city “Seniors” Line Dance Party was hosted by The Finnigan Park Dance group, at The Park Building, 4900 Providence, Street, Houston, Texas.  Victoria (Vickie) Duman “low key” Dance instructor/coordinator, who comes to the city from Chicago, Illinois, is quietly spreading the dance “craze” to Seniors all over the city.  Representing “in the house” were The Tom Bass Group, Tidwell YMCA, Pleasantville, Lincoln City, Judson Robinson, Finnigan Park group and others.  Vickie smiled and said,” we didn’t expect so many” when an estimated 150 to 200 seniors showed up, for the first time endeavor.

THELMA DORA HALL, like so many of Black America’s living historians, who were content to quietly serve God, her husband, children, family, her church family and neighbors, never achieved the kind of acclaim that rates a few paragraphs in the annals of Black History. Even so, the legacy of faithful service to her family, church and community that she left all who knew and loved her inspired such a beautiful tribute to her long and productive life until it is apropos to be noted at a time (when Mother’s Day 2006 is still fresh in the minds of African-AmericanNews&Issues audited estimated 2 million readers and millions more accessing our Webpage www.aframnews.com), until we were compelled to feature her in this edition of Fiesta’s Black History 24-7-365. The tribute reads: “In tears we saw you sinking and watched you fade away.

Too Little, Too Late?
Parents put Arlington officials on the hot seat charging that their effort to inform and involve them about “Fight Clubs” comes too little, too late.  The response comes after parents sat stunned and shocked at the barbaric “Fight Club” video that showed savage animal-like behaviors being acted out by youth and recorded live on Arlington city streets and neighborhoods.  Portions of the videos were shown to about 800 parents and children attending the special meeting at Arlington Bowie High School.

East Texas News
I once heard a wise Black man say that if you want to find out what a Black man is all about, find out what the “racists” in his area thinks about him. That statement has a lot of validity to it, when one focuses on the history and plight of African Americans in this nation. Think about it, some of Black America’s most highly respected leaders, such as Rev. Jesse Jackson, Rev. Al Sharpton, Minister Louis Farrakhan and others are considered to be “trouble makers” by mainstream America. As a matter of act, the late great Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. during his brief lifetime felt the wrath of racist America.

TAKS Doesn’t Measure Heart, Dreams

Although many high school graduations are weeks away, several seniors may not be able to participate in this celebration.
One of those reasons linked to this is the Texas TAKS test.  Throughout Texas now, many teens are contemplating whether to quit, drop out or remain in school. Teens already face stressful issues, pressure surrounding their life daily. Situations such as teen pregnancy, family problems, and other priorities dominate the day to day. Now, the number one worry on the minds of many teens is the TAKS test and how their graduation plans are affected by the test.

Super Black athletes have colored
USA’s glorious sport’s history

As I’ve explained before, when you’re running your own business at age 16, you don’t have time for fun and games. However, if I ignored sports, I would be as uninformed as many White people who deny most of African American’s contributions, simply because they refuse to read Black History that hasn’t been whitewashed to make it palatable for their future generations. I’ve always believed, however, that if America had allowed super Blacks to compete on a level playing field they would’ve nullified many White heroes and colored the United State’s sports history. If, however, if you thinking I’m talking sports, you’re not in the game, because I “ain’t” going there. Instead, when I say super Blacks, that’s just what I mean.

INSIDE & ONLINE
AFRICAN-AMERICAN NEWS & ISSUES

MeMories—Tragedy struck close to home on May 8, 2006, insofar as a member of African-AmericanNews& Issues’ corporate family was devastated when she learned that her beloved son had been the victim of violence, although he had not only given his life to Jesus the Christ at a very early age, but was on the fast track to become one of the truly great, young pastors. Media reports sufficiently explained how 36-year-old Rev. Leroy Wilson Jr. died, but the story, behind the story, was lovingly told during the celebration of his comparatively brief, yet very productive life on May 13, 2006 at Greater Galilee MBC, 4637 Gano, with Pastor Gerald Peavy officiating. The order of service was much like a Who’s Who of young pastors, insofar as his fellow pulpiteers were a comfort for his grieving family.
