BUD'S EYEVIEW
ON:
Jesus ... my real Brother |

Woebeit I never had sense
enough to fear God almighty, or question the Immaculate Conception, but
before you perceive that I’m bordering on The Outer Limits of blasphemy,
mayhap I should explain where I’m coming from. God is not mocked
notwithstanding, in my infantile mind it made sense (to me), that if my
Creator is, indeed, omniscient He wasn’t going to allow me to play
political correct games with Him just to keep my born again brothers and
sisters from thinking I, indeed, dwell in The Twilight Zone of
agnosticism. Mayhap I’m being presumptuous to think those reading this
knows what an agnostic is, but since space is a premium mayhap I should
simply defer to the dictionary. |

Then again, I’ve spoiled African-AmericanNews& Issues’ audited
estimated 2 million readers and millions more accessing our Web page (www.aframnews.com),
by cleverly edifying you with my sho’ nuff innovative For Your
Information research that’s ideally reserved for lazy,
pseudo-intellectuals. Although the dictionary defines an agnostic as
“One who holds that we know nothing of God, or an unseen world beyond
material phenomena,” most people fail to grasp the concept of
agnosticism, insofar as it has actually become somewhat of a religion
itself (FYI: Agnosticism is the philosophical view that the truth or
falsity of certain claims—particularly theological claims regarding the
existence of God or gods—is unknown, unknowable, or incoherent. Some
agnostics infer from this that these claims are irrelevant to life.
The term and the related agnostic were coined by Thomas Henry Huxley in
1869, and are also used to describe those who are unconvinced or
noncommittal about the existence of deities as well as other matters of
religion. Agnostics may claim that it isn't possible to have absolute or
certain spiritual knowledge or alternatively, that while certainty may
be possible, they personally have no such knowledge. In both cases,
agnosticism involves some form of skepticism towards religious
statements. This is different from the simple irreligion of those who
give no thought to the subject.-Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.). For
sure, if truth be told, when you listen to most of the confused
Christians they oftentimes unwittingly embrace agnosticism. For real, I
can’t count the times I’ve heard Christians joke, “As wonderful as
heaven is, I ain’t in a hurry to go there.”
You “in my secret closet” Doubting Thomases might as well pray with me,
because you know where I’m coming from. In addition, I didn’t come to
play, I just came to tell you something about Easter Day. First,
however, let’s give a devil his due. I have to agree with the article (DeLay
says he sees war of Christianity in U. S.: Sugar Land Republican speaks
at conference of religious leaders), in the Houston Chronicle’s March
29, 2006 edition, when old Tom said: “Our faith has always been in
direct conflict with the values of the world. We are, after all, a
society that provides abortion on demand, has killed millions of
innocent children, degrades the institution of marriage and all but
treats Christianity like some second-rate superstition.
“Despite those factors, DeLay said, ‘we have been chosen to live as
Christians at a time when our culture is being poisoned.” Tom, however,
falls in the same category of my brothers and sisters who cringe like
lighting will strike when I suggest that Black folks wouldn’t believe in
Jesus if they knew he was a nappy headed, fat, ugly brother, instead of
their psyche’s subliminal image of a White hunk, with a six pack. Quite
frankly, people think I’m crazy to play with Jesus, but I happen to
believe he has a sense of humor. Besides that, there’s a preponderance
of evidence that suggests that he’s a brother who knows what’s in our
hearts no matter what we might say to a bunch of hypocrites.
Square business, even in today’s “discretion is the better part of
valor” society, I still consider it kinda dumb to give easy to con,
malleable minded “born again, thank ya’ Jesus” Christians” more respect
than I give an all seeing and knowing creator, who is my heavenly
Father. I wonder if anybody knows where I’m coming from on this Easter
week 2006? |
