MAYOR BILL WHITE, the chief executive of America’s fourth largest city
in the land of the free, caused history to repeat in Acres Home at the
Chamber’s 17th Annual Awards Banquet. |
|
A Blueprint for Black
America |
|
History repeated once again when
the AHCBED/AHCCC held their highly successful 17th Annual Awards Banquet
at M.C. Williams Accelerated Middle School, 6100 Knox, in the heart of
Houston, Texas’ predominately Black Acres Home community on March 10,
2006. The annual event once again brought together a wide diversity of
citizens, e.g., the rich and powerful civic/political leaders, to Middle
School students.

Trouble in Paris, Tx. |
|
The headline in African-AmericanNews&Issues’
June 22 - 28, 2006 warned that Black children are targets in Texas
school systems and at risk of becoming pawns of the juvenile justice
system. Despite the numerous meetings, campaign speeches and pulpit
grandstanding that promote Black children as “the future,” Black youth
are constantly being attacked, written off and railroaded by police,
judges, “Yes sum’” Blacks, White teachers, caretakers, principals and
other school officials who have made deals with Willie Lynch and Jim
Crow to sell our future down the river.

Sgt. Maj. Milton M. Holland The year was 1864 in war torn Virginia. A
young Black soldier from the 5th Regiment, U.S. Colored Troops shared
his account of the contributions of the Negro solider mustered into the
Union in the waning years of the Civil War.
In his personal accounts of war, Medal of Honor winner Army Sgt. Maj.
Milton M. Holland became a man of record for the courage, bravery and
actions of trailblazing colored troops who marched through the South
alongside White counterparts flying Old Glory and liberating slaves.

In the past I’ve written articles about Black people being put in
leadership roles by the power structure, for the purpose of
under-minding “true Black leaders” chosen by Black people. I also wrote
in the past that I thought African Americans, who were the descendants
of slaves, and White Americans, who were the descendants of slave
owners, both need post slavery mental therapy. Having witnessed no
changes in those situations since I’ve written about them, this
journalist must draw the conclusion that American society doesn’t want
to change and they are proud of what happened to America’s only slaves.

Where
are the Parents? |
| What makes you a parent?
Are you a parent because you gave birth, you pay child support, or maybe it
is because you can buy your child expensive clothes, shoes, cars or whatever
a child’s heart desires? Truth is, anybody can do that, but that does not
make him or her a parent.

PUBLISHER’S ANALYSIS
by Roy Douglas Malonson |

Rodrick Dow is a financial “Watchman on the
Wall” |
|
In African-American News &Issues’ 2003 archives you can find an
article (Safe Blacks needed), that addresses the dwindling number of
media anointed Black leaders who’re embraced by mainstream America.
No, I’m not talking about “Uncle Toms or “House Negroes” per se.
Instead, the article explains, “Safe Blacks” are our best and
brightest people whose mindset allows them to sit at the table with
the rich and powerful people who call the shots. They truly believe
that the American Dream is available for anybody who works hard,
mind their manners and stay in their designated place. Denial aside,
but if you watch the news, or even read certain Black newspapers,
you know the Black faces in high places I’m talking about.
