Condi for Pres

Can Condi save the GOP?

“As she tours the continent after her Senate confirmation, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is like a rock star — her every movement, her every meeting covered by an adoring media. America’s first Black female secretary of state is do-ing in public what she has always done in private — speaking frankly about America’s priorities and the realities of the post-Cold War world.

Fort Worth’s City Council Member’s

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
— The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

MERTHA DAVIS SIMMONS was born into a vastly different world from the one in which she finished her course. Even so, she was blessed to be able to adapt to that ever evolving world to best utilize the marvels of technology to make life better for those whom she served. Thus, her Prayer of Thanks appropriately began, “Thank you God for a long life, for the training received where I can help others,” and ended, “May the work I’ve done speak for me.”

CONGRATULATIONS
THEODORE DAVIS, JR.

“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, or stand in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of mockers.”
Theodore Davis, Jr., a long time resident of The Riverwood Sub-Division in North East Houston, was rewarded with a retirement party at The University of Houston’s General Service Building.

East Texas News
Although U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney’s recent accidental shooting of a hunting buddy wasn’t considered a big deal by Bush, the Whitehouse or Cheney himself, it does speak volumes to the bungling bureaucracy of the current Whitehouse and mainstream media, from the mishandling of the Iraq war to the collapse of Enron World Commerce and other giant American business corporations, an “Administration or culture of corruption” seems to be the proper term for the Bush/ Cheney Administration.

PUBLISHER’S ANALYSIS
by Roy Douglas Malonson

Why Black America’s confused voters
can’t win for losing?

Did you vote early? Did you know early voting for the March 7, Primary Elections were held Feb. 21-March 1, 2006? Are you wondering where I’m going by asking those questions? If so, you’re probably political illiterate. On the other hand, you only vote in “The Big One,” i.e. presidential elections.

INSIDE & ONLINE
AFRICAN-AMERICAN NEWS & ISSUES

TwiliteZone.com— Blessed are Black History lovers, for they shall be recognized by African-AmericanNews& Issues. We truly appreciate the many living historians wont to share their literary treasures. Among those who think of the old warrior, whenever they find unusual Black History books, are Deacon Harold and Sis. Denice Jones, who introduced me to Dr. Howard Jone’s (no relations) The Red Diary. I used the PVAMU legend’s book so much until he sent us an autographed copy. This Black History Month, they gave me Jeffery C. Stewart’s 1001 Things Everyone Should Know About African American History. I recommend it for history lovers, who prefer concise reading material. Check it out @ www.valuebooks.com.
