MICHAEL POWELL (center), the son of America’s erstwhile Secretary of State Colin Powell, ‘who just happens to be Black,’ is the biggest reason that Black America is failing to communicate.

Speak Up Black America

“In 1987, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) repealed the so-called ‘fairness’ doctrine. That policy required stations -- because they use the public airways -- to present differing views on controversial issues. Since repeal, there's been no requirement to balance talk radio's conservative voices. Talk radio's audience has not been kind to liberal hosts.

Reaching a Turning Point:
Redefining “Fair Share” and the Fight for Economic Inclusion in Fort Worth

In the wake of an open letter and news report airing a tiff between religious groups, a flurry of pastors have turned their ire in on the African-AmericanNews&Issues.

ELIZABETH GUILLORY TERRY was born in the same week as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (six years before “The Great Drum Major” for peace), whom she dearly loved and considered her people’s greatest heroes. Nevertheless, she found herself cast in the role of Coretta Scott King, when she became an ideal preacher’s wife, insofar as she not only loved Jesus, but all of God’s children.

What Do Seniors do at Christmas Time?

“Children’s children are a crown to the aged and Parents are the pride of their children.” “Gray Hair” is a crown to the aged; to live to see one’s grandchildren is considered a great blessing. Parents are truly the pride of their children.”

PUBLISHER’S ANALYSIS
by Roy Douglas Malonson

No news is good news for watchers on the wall

African-AmericanNews &Issues, as African American’s watcher on the wall, would be remiss if we didn’t make absolutely sure that our audited estimated 2 million readers, in 30 Texas townships and unto millions more accessing our Webpage (www.aframnews.com) each week, understand why a low wattage AM radio station, targeting Black consumers, is worth $10 million dollars to a major media conglomerate with a dubious agenda.

INSIDE & ONLINE
AFRICAN-AMERICAN NEWS & ISSUES

TwiliteZone.com — Most of our community leaders like Odessa Sayles, the Adopt A Black Child legend, not only depend on African-American News&Issues to get their message out, but to also take care of Black Houston’s business. We’re flattered, but, alas, we only endorse the advertisers in our MarketPlace section. Thus, we’re unable to recommend a Black owned Security Company to hire for the National Association of Black Social Workers when it holds its 38th National Conference in Houston April 11 - 15, 2006.
