DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. readily acknowledged that he wouldn’t have been able to do what he did, if God hadn’t blessed him with a good woman like Coretta Scott King at his back.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MLK

“The extent to which Government officials outside of the FBI must bear responsibility for the FBI's campaign to discredit Dr. King is not clear.

Acres Home Warrior Promises Fresh Approach to District Development,
Doing Business at City Hall

In one of Houston’s best-kept secrets, the Acres Home community is a community known for producing true warriors. Each warrior has been fully equipped for battle and ingrained with the wisdom of their African ancestors. Community activist and now newly elected District B Councilman Jarvis Johnson is one of the Acres Home warriors living up to that billing.

EARL B. LOGGINS, much like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whom he greatly admired and respected, certainly wouldn’t have a problem with being remembered as a Drum Major for Peace, unity and economic progress. Nevertheless, he touched such a wide diversity of venues as he faithfully served his city and community, until his long list of accomplishments couldn’t be overlooked during the December 27, 2005 celebration of his long and productive life at Wheeler Avenue BC, 3826 Wheeler, with Rev. W. E. Lockett officiating.

East Texas News
The recent execution of Stanley “Tookie” Williams in California was a crushing blow to death penalty opponents world wide and puts the questions of racism and fairness on the American “Table.” I mean think about it, the state of California executes a man accused of multiple murders based on “faulty evidence”
from “unreliable sources.”

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
rode “Rosa’s Bus” to immortality

I would like to believe that African-AmericanNews &Issues’ extensive and/or consistent search for little known facts to set Black History straight, is slowly but surely, bearing fruit. Perish the thought that I expect for our critics to give us credit for forcing the mainstream media to do a better job of reporting African American’s history.

TwiliteZone.com— My first come, first served policy is very rigid, but it still must yeild to advertisers. Thus, the celebration of John Floyd Grant’s life (on Dec. 28, 2005 at Carl Barnes Funeral Home, 746 W. 22nd) must be noted. Shirley Ann’s Black Arts & Kollectibles Showroom, 6112 Wheatley, a charter advertiser, is owned and operated by Grant’s cousin,Shirley Ann Malonson. Grant was born on Dec. 14, 1947, to the late Percy Scott and Inez Grant. He was the fourth of five children. One sister, Meloridge St. Julian preceded him in death...
