Was Rita Pimped?
Fear drives America’s economy

MANY FAMILIES found themselves on “Highways to Nowhere” when they attempted to avoid an uninvited guest named Rita ...that brought fear and uncertainly to Texas’ Gulf Coast areas.

Bush shouldn’t ignore
the Nation’s Mins. Farrakhan

Have you ever heard a person say, “He (or she) can’t tell me nothing?” Usually they are talking about somebody that they don’t like, or have much respect for. I asked that question, because over the years I’ve learned to respect the message, no matter who’s the messenger.

Can a Sleeping Giant Be Revived?

Over eight months ago, battle lines were drawn in a fight to control city government.
That heated fight ended up a huge defeat for Dallas Mayor Laura Miller as the Black and Brown voters flexed their muscles and sent a strong message to city hall that Dallas city government needed no changes.

Ebenezer, Not a Shelter, but a Transitional Home

Constable Ruben Davis of Fort Bend County Precinct 2 held his Annual Prayer Breakfast at the Quail Run Community Center, 16748 Quail Park, Missouri City, Texas, September 3.
“I look forward to these prayer breakfasts, because they do so much for the community,” said Davis. “I will always hold free annual prayer breakfasts for the community. The people get more out of the prayer than just food.”

East Texas News

THIS BUD’S FOR YOU

As many times that I’ve mentioned that the only time I’ve voted in my life was when I cast a vote for Minnie Mae Ryans (Mrs. Bennie Roy), for Miss Wheatley, I still find myself caught up in a political soap opera, that I would have to have the wisdom of Solomon to deal with.

“Six essential qualities that are the key to success:
sincerity, personal
integrity, humility,
courtesy, wisdom, charity.”

-William Menninger
