What Ya Gonna Do When
They Come For You?

If you have been paying close attention, or any attention at all to the news, you know by now that the powers that be have started character attacks on Black politicians. In Dallas, the current FBI probe has expanded its investigation, which initially targeted a few brothers in high-ranking positions involved in city politics, to include sistahs. Guess that someone figured all that in the end, no matter what, enough sistahs will come to support the brothers. Additionally, the FBI is eyeing brothers and sistahs serving on city commissions, and even a brother on the school board. And, as it turns out, national news has confirmed that other Black politicians across the country are also under attack. I find it interesting that the so-called Black leaderships, who normally would be the first one to speak out against this type of tactics, are silent. In fact, the Negro ministers seem to have disappeared all together and I would suspect the possibility of a federal investigation into their church business may have been suggested to a few of them. Perhaps they have figured out that the best way to plan a successful strategy is do so behind closed doors without the rolling cameras to capture their plan and broadcast the details on the six o’clock news. I am sure that several Negroes who hear about this have little to say…thinking, “Uh, that’s too bad for them. I bet they are guilty.” But, we need to get a clear understanding and recognize that this is not the first time organized efforts have been made around the country to push brotha man and his woman, sistah girl, out the door . Now, just because so far, these brothers and sisters being “investigated” have been into politics, it does not mean that soon, the powers that be won’t come to you. I figure it goes like this. Politicians are agents for change, as they are in positions to speak for their constituents through their vote. So, it makes sense that they would be the first to be targeted for destruction. But, wait. Educators are also agents for change. Then there are medical personnel, business owners, social service professionals, labors, domestic workers and of course journalists. Anyone in these professions may find themselves on the list of
