Houston Hope and the City of Houston
Plan to Revitalize Sunnyside
Hope is coming to
Sunnyside residents.
It was the message Houston Mayor Bill White recently conveyed when
introducing the residents to Project Houston Hope and encouraging their
assistance with helping to revitalize the neighborhood.
The gathering was held in the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center and council
members Ada Edwards and Gordon Quan and city staff members Assistant
Director Mina Gerall, Principal Planner Karsan Hirani and others
attended to offer support. White told residents and leaders to work
closer with the mayor’s office. |

East Texas News
“Raising” children today
is a complicated task, which takes dedication and commitment from
parents or whoever “raise” them. The task becomes even more daunting for
African American parents and others raising Black children in America.
The inherent danger that racism posses to Black people in this post
slavery era makes it a must for African Americans to teach their young
about the hidden perils of racism. We (Black people) have known since
slavery the dangers of racism, racist people and what they are capable
of doing to an unsuspecting Black person.
