Houston Hope and the City of Houston Plan to Revitalize Sunnyside

Hope is coming to Sunnyside residents.
It was the message Houston Mayor Bill White recently conveyed when introducing the residents to Project Houston Hope and encouraging their assistance with helping to revitalize the neighborhood.
The gathering was held in the Sunnyside Multi-Service Center and council members Ada Edwards and Gordon Quan and city staff members Assistant Director Mina Gerall, Principal Planner Karsan Hirani and others attended to offer support. White told residents and leaders to work closer with the mayor’s office.

We (Black people) have known since slavery the dangers of racism, racist people and what they are capable of doing to an unsuspecting Black person.

Vacation Bible School

The East Houston Church of Christ, 7515 East Houston Road, where Jesse Simon serves as minister, hosted its annual Vacation Bible School.
The one-week study adventure was a tremendous success, drawing from 60 to 75 adults and children in the five-night study periods.

"The religious is any activity pursued in behalf of an ideal end against obstacles and in spite of threats of personal loss because of its general and enduring value."

- John Dewey
