Fantroy Strikes Back: Blasts Probe as Political Smokescreen

With the current FBI investigation in full swing, District 8 Councilman James Fantroy stepped up to the plate and blasted the probe as a smokescreen designed to destroy political effectiveness of Black city leaders in Dallas. “Nothing about the FBI surprises Black folks and this is nothing new,” Fantroy said. “What you see going on here with the FBI has been going on since Blacks have been fighting causes.”

East Texas News

While we’re taking care of all of our other business, it will be of the utmost importance to (Black people) make sure we take care of our political business. Elections come up every year that affect our lives and lifestyles. We all have complaints about how things are being run by the government, on local, state and federal levels. All of the complaining in the world won’t do any good, if we don’t take care of our political business and vote to make the correct changes. Forget the people who talk about voting “doesn’t do any good,” and “my one vote won’t matter.”

Texans Support the Troops

Every once in a while, someone in Washington asks me why we Texans have so much love for our state. Is it the food, weather or culture?
While I love the food, weather and culture in Texas, the real reason I am so proud of our state is its people. And I have no better evidence of the character of Texans than an episode I heard about the other day at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.

"We can tell our values by looking at our checkbook stubs."

- Gloria Steinem
