Political Giants Promise Healing After Bruising District 8 Race in Dallas

After hard fought campaigns, two political giants promise unity, healing and to work together for continued growth and progress for Blacks in Dallas Council District 8. Flanked by supporters, a tearful, but victorious James L. Fantroy called on African Americans to set aside political differences and vowed to work for each and every citizen in the district. “It is tough when you have to fight against a friend, but it is time to stop fighting and start working together,” Fantroy said.

As a concerned African American, I as well as millions of other Black people in this country look at the news to see what is happening in the world around us. What I am seeing these days is news with a “slant” that is opinionated to the right, “the far right.” I am talking, republican conservative sneaky right, coming from mainstream media which is suppose to be “liberal.” The “liberal media hoax” is another phenomenon that serves as a cloak to hide mainstream media’s lack of fair objectivity when reporting the news.

 

Congressman Green salutes HRSA for awarding a $650,000 grant to Texas Southern University

Texas Southern University Recently Congressman Al Green (TX-9) saluted Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for awarding a grant in the amount of $650,000 to Texas Southern University (TSU). The funding will provide additional scholarship opportunities for students attending the University, many of whom have roots in the 9th Congressional District.
