Under Attack: Biased Reports, Harassment by White News Media Dogging DFW’s Black Leaders
Referring to a former
African American police chief as an idiot is turning into a political
nightmare for Dallas Mayor Laura Miller. “Where is it written in
scripture that African Americans and people of color are idiots,” said
the Rev. Stephen C. Nash. “We are morally convicted, and so are other
leaders who love Dallas, to show Mayor Miller that hate and ridicule and
kicking folks when they are down is morally unacceptable.” |

East Texas News
If you had two teams
about to play in the biggest game of the century, and one had a full
roster and the other was missing some of its good players, the logical
advantage would naturally go to the team with all of its players—and
rightfully so. African Americans are missing some good players, whose
presence on the team might make the difference between a win and loss,
when failing to include all of teammates on the roster —politically,
culturally and socially.

FUUSA mentors offer positive influence for children of incarcerated parents
“Prisons provide no real
rehabilitation for inmates. They are designed to isolate incarcerated
individuals, mostly minorities, from their families and friends, and
break down their personalities. Prisons utilize violence by teaching
lessons through abuse to the confined. With no outlet of expression,
bitterness, anger, and rage build up and explode in self-destructive
ways, sending an inmate back into the prison system to perpetuate a
vicious cycle.” These words, taken from an essay published by Harold
Thompson who was imprisoned in the 60’s for allegedly murdering the man
who killed his wife, reflect an epidemic that leaves damaging effects on
a vital part of the community—children. |
