What’s that old saying about “You can’t handle the truth?” I think the saying should be the United States’ motto. Think about it. Recognition for past African Americans’ success has been slow, when it comes to acknowledging their accomplishments and contributions. People in the United States historically having the power and not using it to get Blacks’ significant contributions out to the public, are causing the racial problems. I’ve always been told “the truth will set you free.”

South Oak Cliff Brings Class 4A Title Home

Using talent and skills, the South Oak Cliff High School put on a clinic at the UIL Boys State Basketball Tournament beating San Antonio Sam Houston squad 64-43.
The high-flying Golden Bears (32-7) dominated its opponent to capture its first Class 4A state title since 1992. The school also won a state championship in 1977.

 

Phillis Wheatley Metropolitan Alumni and Ex-Students Association

The powerful Phillis Wheatley Metropolitan Alumni and Ex-Students Association had a humble beginning during the 50th Anniversary Celebration held at Phillis Wheatley High School in November 1977. Ruby Seale Carvin hosted a party in her home for a group of ex-students.
