Although Freedom Fighters and Civil Rights Leaders are often criticized for what they do, in my mind there is a legitimate need for them. The reason I say this is because for the most part, Black people's problems in America are simply that, "Black people's problems". For instance how much media exposure does AIDS in the Black community get? How much media exposure is put on Black high unemployment, Blacks in prisons and Black voters being disenfranchised in the elections of 2000 and 2004. When President Bush rushed the county to war, no one in Congress or the U.S. Senate was willing to stand up to him. Freedom Fighters and Civil Rights Leaders were constantly hammering the President about his unpopular decisions and informing the people of those bad decisions.

Brothers Giving Back

Retirees that grew up in the Fifth Ward, “around” The Hester House and Finnegan Park, came together as “elves”, to help assemble bicycles for State Representative Harold V. Dutton, Jr.’s Annual Christmas Party, Saturday December 18th at The Julia C. Hester House 2020 Solo Street Houston, Texas. Repersentative Dutton and volunteers passed out one Hundred and Forty Bicycles, Forty Computers, and over a Thousand Dollars in warped gifts to needy children in the Fifth Ward Area.
