Congratulations Doris Liggins-Pinson



A celebration was given in honor of Doris Ann Liggins-Pinson at the Fifth Ward Multiservice Building, 4014 Market St., Houston, Texas.
Doris who usually share the “spotlight” with her twin sister Dorothy Liggins-Davis, (this time she is doing a solo) as she retires after Thirty-One Years at Phillis Wheatley High School.
The audience was packed with family, co-workers, friends and well wishers.
The program begin with a (Welcome) by her son, Orin Pinson who serves as Master of ceremonies and prayer was rendered by Edward Pinson. (Special Tribute) by grandchildren, Edward Pinson 111, Lavaca Pinson, and De Edra Pinson. (A Song) Glynesia Spurlock and a (Family Tribute) by her brother Robert Liggins.

Doris (Liggins) Pinson was born and raised in 5th Ward Texas, attended Bruce Elementary, E.O. Smith Jr. High and Phillis Wheatley High School. Class of 1963.
Ms. Pinson “affection known as twin” return to Wheatley as an employee for Thirty One Years. She began her career at the age of Twenty Seven and served under seven principals. She worked in many areas of the School. Her title was officially “Clerk” but served in any capacity needed. The majority of her time was in the office and in the class rooms. She was a dedicated Alumni and worked as a liaison between the school and the ex-students Alumni Association. She loved and preferred working with the students.

Ms. Pinson co-ordinate and help sponsored Six Years of Wheatley’s Home Coming Parades.
Each year the Parades grew larger and larger. She retired December 31, 2003. “Twin” is very proud of her school and she loves Purple and White. She will be truly missed by the students that loved her.
