Isaac Hayes Kicks Off National Tour Showing Potent Tools
For Improving Life And Restoring Respect

The Church of Scientology Volunteer Ministers launched a national campaign with a three week exhibit in Harlem, teaching L. Ron Hubbard’s practical techniques which people of all faiths can use to be more successful, improve family life, get better jobs, handle study and drug problems and restore respect in the individual and the community.

Soul legend Isaac Hayes (also known to a younger generation as the voice of “Chef” on South Park) joined with officials of the Church of Scientology Harlem, and representatives from other Harlem religious groups, in welcoming the public to the free exhibition.
“The methods used by the Volunteer Ministers got wide media coverage for their effectiveness at the World Trade Center Disaster,” said Reverend Willie E. Frink Jr. Pastor for the Harlem Church of Scientology. “But shock, trauma, fatigue and injury are not the only problems people have in life. Many of the problems people encounter—drug dependency, the decay of personal integrity, a disintegrating marriage, can seem overwhelming.”
“What people see on this tour,” said Rev. Frink, “is that no matter what the problem, something can be done about it. You just have to know what to do, and the methods on display here, developed by author L. Ron Hubbard for use by people of all faiths, are actual, practical tools for dealing with those difficulties.”

Visual aids, lots of personal attention, and individual demonstrations by guides throughout the display are used throughout to ensure everyone who visits gets a clear idea how to handle problems which they thought were hopeless.
The opening ceremonies included a prayer from the Rev. Dr. Earl B. Moore, Deputy Commissioner of the NY State Department of Corrections, and performances from a special ensemble from the St. Paul Choir and the Harlem All-Star Steel Drum Orchestra.
Isaac Hayes said, “Everyone, but particularly African American people, can use the techniques in the exhibit to increase literacy, fight drug abuse, and create stronger, more prosperous communities.” Since it was also Mother’s Day, he took the opportunity to praise mothers as the “cornerstone” of the community; every mother at the opening received a rose with a personal note from Hayes.|

Visitors to the tent have been receiving help and new information. The book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health, L. Ron Hubbard’s breakthrough book on the mind and other materials are available and ministers are on hand to demonstrate the techniques and provide help right away. One guest wrote, “Today I felt like I stopped here for a reason. I gained more self love and love for others…I learned that if you need to know why something is going wrong in your life, you need to know Dianetics.” Another wrote, “I loved the way the Volunteer Minister explained what the organization has to offer. The information I received will help many people and the community of Harlem. I look forward to networking with your organization.”
