KBWC Radio Wins "Station of the Year" Award

Student staffers from KBWC Radio 91.1 FM at Wiley College were awarded the "Station of the Year" award during the annual Black College Radio Conference held in Atlanta recently. Each year, students from radio stations at historically black colleges from around the country meet to discuss innovative programming ideas, network with their counterparts at other Black radio stations and compete for the coveted BCR awards.

"We are very excited to have been selected as the top station among the competing HBCUs," said Shannon Levingston, KBWC Station Manager. "Our students work very hard to produce quality programming, so it's nice they are being recognized nationally for their efforts."

Miss Jennifer Banks also received the "News and Public Affairs Director of the Year" award during the conference.
